Ever since I saved a baby from a hot car this always catches my attention: "Police smash car window to save crying children ..- "

I saved a baby at City of Orange public Library one day when a caretaker left a child in the van and the baby was crying inside and she was inside the library with the rest of the kids. I don't know why she left one child inside the car.

It was actually another fellow who heard the baby crying and he came & asked me what he thinks should be done. So I went inside with him in the library and we contacted staff and they got  on the loudspeaker and the caretaker came out.

Oddly, she didn't seem very concerned even though the baby was crying and all the windows were closed. And then Library staff tried to move us away as if it wasn't any of our business. Because they tried to move us away as if it wasn't any of our business I decided I should call police and I did.

So the police came and took a report and this got filed with one of the social agencies. And eventually the agency had some kind of legal action against this lady and I had to testify in court.

I didn't want to get the lady in trouble if it was a one- time simple mistake that she would never do again but she didn't seem very concerned or apologetic. I don't know what happened in the end but I'm sure she won't do it again. That's the main thing.

But the other thing that bothered me is that if I hadn't contacted the police I don't think the library was planning on doing so either. They seemed to be more concerned about making it go away.
